Many thanks for Hyddenworld - can't wait for the next installment! Loved the Duncton series - but already this feels much bigger - and by the way I made everyone I know read Skallagrigg and we shed many tears - mostly of joy! JR

Wow - stumbled upon this site completely by accident. What a great way to thank an author who has been so influential to me.
The first three Duncton books were pretty much all I read between the ages of 12 and 15, and your style, passion and beautiful characterisation have stayed with me ever since.
I'm so excited to discover you're writing a new epic fantasy series, having lost myself in both Duncton trilogies and The Wolves of Time (love Callanish too).
Thankyou for beautiful characters like Bracken, Rebecca, Mayweed, Weeth and Rooster.
Can't wait to read the new books!

Dear Mr Horwood!
I've just found your site and read the information that your father was Polish. I nearly broke into tears because i was reading the last chapters of "The Boy With No Shoes " today and I was going to write to you how grateful and happy i feel, being able to read your stories. I am Polish myself, but i always felt this strong love for English literature, fairytales and landscape...When I discovered for myself your "Tales of the Willows" and "Duncton Wood" i felt that i finally met a Storyteller who touched my heart and soul deeper than anyone before. I am so thankful! I hope one day i will be able to meet you in person. Maybe some day you will come to Poland?I want you to know that in this land lives-at least!- one girl whose heart dwells always in the shade of the Duncton Stone, by the River or on the shingly shore of Kent...
World is a better place with your books.Thank you once more! Greetings from Southern Poland!

I've loved your work for years and am looking forward to the Hyddenworld books. Are these getting translated in Dutch? I'd love to share them with family and friends (most of whom don't read in English).
Thank you for the joy reading your books has given me!

I'm a longtime reader (well, about 15 years, but I'm only 32) and currently reading Hyddenworld: Spring. Having read a great deal of the modern fantasy sub-genre, I can honestly say that you have come up with a tale that is up there with the greats such as Charles de Lint and Neil Gaiman.
I wait with great anticipation the further unfolding of this story. Best of luck!

hiya, not really feedback, but in your Wolf books, at the back you said if I were to send you a self addressed stamped envelope I could get an autographed copy of the next book, which I did, along with some Shamanic wolf stones and never did receive my book, and I lived in Canada then, so postage was not cheap!! :) The Duncton books are my all time favorite books and I was wondering if it is at all possible if I sent you one of those, could I get it autographed by Mr Horwood. I now married a lovely British man and live here and I would pay all the postage. The books are just so touching and spiritual to me (husband is a Buddhist, I am a Wiccan) and I would so love to have one of my books autographed. You are an amazing writer, I have read everything you ever put out, and it would mean so very much. By the way, Mayweed is the best character in all the universe, so thank you for sharing him with us....Mayweed is also my magickal name in circle, and everyone calls me Moley!! Even if you can't arrange to have my book autographed, I still think you are a fantatsic author and The Duncton books and characters taught me a lot about spirituality, tolerance and love, and for that I thank you.

Firstly, it is wonderful news that William is returning to the fantasy genre. I was privileged to hear him speak at Waterstones in Bath in the early 90's and about a year later at the same store but its Bristol branch. One comment that William made was how books should have shelf appeal and his Willows books (and the original Grahame book which William provided a foreword for when Patrick Benson illustrated a new version) most definitely have this and the Hyddenworld tetralogy look magnificent as well.
One query however; will the original Duncton Wood book ever be reprinted in hardback in a version that matches the other five books which William suggested would happen at one of his talks? Secondly, there was once mention of a Duncton Companion. Will this book ever see the light of day?

Your website is absolutely great! I'll most certainly be tuning in regularly, to read your new blog entry's.
Ordered your latest book and can't wait to get started. But whatever happened to the second James Conan book (The Coburg Conspiracy). Is that ever going to be published?

Congratulations on the site - and welcome back, William ! Thoroughly enjoying Hyddenworld.
Your writing and compassion have been constant companions since Duncton Wood first emerged.
Though I doubt you will recall, fully 20 years ago we met and talked over a possible documentary about cerebral palsy.
It's good to have you back - and on such strong form.
Best wishes
TIM

Dear Mr Horwood, I think you have a fabulous website. I am a HUGE fan of yours and have secretly been in love with you for a long time. I am coming to your event in Newbury tomorrow evening and look forward to it very much. I would of course appreciate it that you keep this off record. Yours sincerely, Ms Lesley Robin

Went into our local library to return some books and just by chance saw a brand new copy of Spring. As I have read all(?) other Wm Horwood books, I was thrilled. In fact, I almost didn't want to start reading it, the pleasure of anticipation was so great! Just finished reading it this morning - absolutely lived up to my expectations, great characters, evocative descriptions and wonderful story. Can't wait for the next book. Thank you

Hi
My husband ordered Hyddenworld last year for me and I've been avidly waiting it's arrival. I wasn't disappointed! Having finished reading it on the train on Thursday, I'm now desperate for the next novel.
My first book was Duncton Wood bought when I was about 15 years old. I was hooked and the chronicles are my all time favourites. Over the years, I've collected all your books and I'm so glad you are writing again.
Good luck with Hyddenworld!
Pam Altoft
