DOWNLOADS OF audiobooks often make better presents for oneself than for others – so here’s a seasonal one of mine to curl up with. All the more so because it’s read by the late, great Richard Briers (who also played the key part in the BBC film version of Skallagrigg). I was thrilled when he agreed to make an audio of my The Willows in Winter. Like me he loved this dark time of year. Ever since someone read Dickens’ A Christmas Carol to me I always wanted to write some seasonal stories of my own and this title as well as its other companion titles including The Willows at Christmas satisfied that need. You can still buy this now-old fashioned cassette version here – but talks are now underway to reproduce all these titles in CD’s. News of that soon.
